Announcement

Due to the mods being increasingly busy and the lack of activity within the community, we would like to announce that Victoria Peak is officially closed.

Mod Announcement

Greetings, members of

victoriapeak! In light of a recent lengthy discussion, we the mod team would like to take some time to address a few small changes we're implementing. Changes in the following rules are bolded.

→HIATUSES
Hiatus periods cannot go beyond two weeks. Hiatuses taken in the last week of the month will no longer exempt a muse from monthly activity requirements unless discussed with the mods. Extensions may be given, if requested.

→ACTIVITY
We'd like to clearly state once and for all that introduction posts have never been and will never be counted as discussion posts to count for monthly activity.
Activity requirements include any ONE of the following:

1 non one-liner discussion post to the main community (not to be used two consecutive months)
1 participated log or thread posted to thepeak_rp
1 hosted community-wide event

Activity requirements for faction leaders include the above in ADDITION to either ONE of the following:

1 event (community-wide or faction-wide)
1 open thread (must be able to involve more than 1 other muse)

→GRACE PERIOD
New muses accepted between the 21st to the end of the month are exempt but not discouraged from completing activity check for said month.

→MUSE TAGS
Custom muse tags have been created and added in

thepeak_rp for all current muses, and we'll continue to create tags for all future muses. Please remember to include them in future posts alongside the usual tags.

These changes will take effect at the time of this post.

Additionally, we would like to apologise for the lack of main mod-driven plot these past few months, and have taken steps to ensure a more immersive experience from here on out. In other words, we've got some big plans coming your way, and hope you'll enjoy taking part in them!

If you have any feedback, suggestions or questions for us, please don't hesitate in sending us a PM to let us know.

Hello, Victoria Peak! I’ve heard of this place for a long while, but never really got around to checking it out. I am not really good with keeping up with social media so I kind of stay clear out of it as much as possible. But someone told me I need to sign up here in order to be part of the cool crowd. It seems like getting connected with everyone on the internet is the first step. So here it goes!

Let’s see... My name is Jung Jaehyun, 20 years old, born in South Korea but moved here in Hong Kong 2 years ago. I live alone at the tenth floor of Palatial Crest. So hello there neighbors! You might have also seen me running around HKU. I attend there as a 2^nd year culinary arts student. If you’re not a student there but a pet lover, you might have seen me as one of the handsome staff of Devilish Paws Pet Shop and Grooming Salon, your one-stop shop to all your pet supply and grooming needs! Yes… that’s a plug. My boss said he’d give me a bonus if I include that here.

What else should I say…? Hmmm… I like the sea. I eat a lot but I don’t eat seafood. My heart cries whenever we are forced to prepare seafood dishes in class. I am a light sleeper. I easily get awaken by the slightest noises at night. I guess that’s it? Uhhh…. If you want to know more about me, just ask. I’ll try to give you an answer. Or you could just drop by and say, hi. Don’t be afraid. I’m quite friendly. I'll even offer you my hot pack!

Hey, Minseok here. I also go by Xiumin or just Min if the other two are hard to pronounce for some reason 哈哈 We're a multicultural bunch, right? Who knows!

I'm not new to Hong Kong, but I'm new here and probably to most of you. I figured, "new year so new me" sort of thing. It's trite, but it's true. I usually don't get out much, but I'm graduating soon so... With school out of the way, I won't have much else to do. If I'm going to stay here the rest of my life, might as well make friends!

It's not the friendliest start. First impressions are important, right? Let's start over. I'm Kim Minseok, originally from Seoul, South Korea. I speak Korean, English, and Mandarin pretty fluently, so don't worry about language barriers. I even know some Canto and a little French. I love languages, and people's choice of words can really tell you a lot about them. And I mean fluent speakers, someone who might choose between "abnormal" or "unique" to describe something that is simply "different."

So let's play a game called word association. I'll start, and each reply has to have the first word that pops into your head. Don't hesitate! All words are allowed, even curses or other taboo things. Then I'll reply with a new word that's linked to your first reply, and we'll make a chain of words to learn a little about each other.

What's in a name?

Everyone is given a name, and some choose theirs. I'm one of those who has both.

I want know what your name means! Do you think your name suits you?
If you don't know or really never thought about it, you can tell me whether or not you'd ever wanted to change your name, what to and why.

For me, as far as I was told, my name means 'vivid, bright and fiery' but could also be interpreted as 'fruitful.'
And Charlie...well, that's a name I chose for myself with the cartoon Charlie Brown in mind. My mom wanted me to be Philip.....can you imagine?
I think my birth name suits me well but I also like how Charlie sounds when people say it. I always thought it sounded warm and friendly even from strangers' lips.

Pet peeves.

Nintendo just came up with a new logo for their new console, it looks like this.

I really do not care for Nintendo, but I am truthfully bothered about the fact the logo is not symmetrical. It is showing me that it is a bigger pet peeve than I initially imagined.
