Hello, Victoria Peak! I’ve heard of this place for a long while, but never really got around to checking it out. I am not really good with keeping up with social media so I kind of stay clear out of it as much as possible. But someone told me I need to sign up here in order to be part of the cool crowd. It seems like getting connected with everyone on the internet is the first step. So here it goes!

Let’s see... My name is Jung Jaehyun, 20 years old, born in South Korea but moved here in Hong Kong 2 years ago. I live alone at the tenth floor of Palatial Crest. So hello there neighbors! You might have also seen me running around HKU. I attend there as a 2^nd year culinary arts student. If you’re not a student there but a pet lover, you might have seen me as one of the handsome staff of Devilish Paws Pet Shop and Grooming Salon, your one-stop shop to all your pet supply and grooming needs! Yes… that’s a plug. My boss said he’d give me a bonus if I include that here.

What else should I say…? Hmmm… I like the sea. I eat a lot but I don’t eat seafood. My heart cries whenever we are forced to prepare seafood dishes in class. I am a light sleeper. I easily get awaken by the slightest noises at night. I guess that’s it? Uhhh…. If you want to know more about me, just ask. I’ll try to give you an answer. Or you could just drop by and say, hi. Don’t be afraid. I’m quite friendly. I'll even offer you my hot pack!

Hey, Minseok here. I also go by Xiumin or just Min if the other two are hard to pronounce for some reason 哈哈 We're a multicultural bunch, right? Who knows!

I'm not new to Hong Kong, but I'm new here and probably to most of you. I figured, "new year so new me" sort of thing. It's trite, but it's true. I usually don't get out much, but I'm graduating soon so... With school out of the way, I won't have much else to do. If I'm going to stay here the rest of my life, might as well make friends!

It's not the friendliest start. First impressions are important, right? Let's start over. I'm Kim Minseok, originally from Seoul, South Korea. I speak Korean, English, and Mandarin pretty fluently, so don't worry about language barriers. I even know some Canto and a little French. I love languages, and people's choice of words can really tell you a lot about them. And I mean fluent speakers, someone who might choose between "abnormal" or "unique" to describe something that is simply "different."

So let's play a game called word association. I'll start, and each reply has to have the first word that pops into your head. Don't hesitate! All words are allowed, even curses or other taboo things. What's in a name?

Everyone is given a name, and some choose theirs. I'm one of those who has both.

I want know what your name means! Do you think your name suits you?
If you don't know or really never thought about it, you can tell me whether or not you'd ever wanted to change your name, what to and why.

For me, as far as I was told, my name means 'vivid, bright and fiery' but could also be interpreted as 'fruitful.'
And Charlie...well, that's a name I chose for myself with the cartoon Charlie Brown in mind. My mom wanted me to be Philip.....can you imagine?
I think my birth name suits me well but I also like how Charlie sounds when people say it. I always thought it sounded warm and friendly even from strangers' lips.

Pet peeves.

Nintendo just came up with a new logo for their new console, it looks like this.

I really do not care for Nintendo, but I am truthfully bothered about the fact the logo is not symmetrical. It is showing me that it is a bigger pet peeve than I initially imagined.

I'm not the best cook. In fact, I'm not really a cook at all.

hello again, dearest friends.

new year is upon us and i am really, very much so fucking done with 2016 so i have settled to do away with it with a lot of booze and beautiful company. some have already confirmed interest, so i decided to post here so we all can partake on a lil' partying.

the seafood room is a really cool place, has a massive dining room, art gallery, terrace, rooftop lounge and shisha bar. it's free flow from 888hkd (~114 usd), or you can get two free drinks with a 555hkd (~71usd) ticket. they also have 5 course dinner options to add on and their drink selection is bomb. it goes until the sunrise, they have a good dj, space to dance, a beautiful view, the list of benefits keeps on going. but it's also a much calmer place than the other new year parties i considered. lots of open spaces to sit, so i hope that makes the more shy people feel a little more comfortable.

i'll be there from 1:30 am till i can't feel my legs, so i hope to see you guys there.

Stop! Memory Time!

Man, the new year is coming quick. Pretty sure I'm not the only one that thinks that it can't come fast enough!

But to put a bit of a lighter tone to the end of such a crazy year, I'd like to know what you're funniest memory is. Could be something you did, could be something your friends did, maybe it was super embarrassing at the time, but now you just look back at it and laugh?

Wouldn't be fair for me not to share all the same. :] One of my funniest memories (there are quite a few of them, lemme tell you) is this one time we were visiting family up in the northern states over Christmas (I was living in California at the time), and my older cousin, full of older cousin wisdom, told me it wasn't possible to get your tongue stuck to a frozen pole.

Well guess what?

It's totally possible.

hello, everyone. ^^ my name is kang mina..! please forgive me for being a bit awkward and timid. i'm not used to the whole...being social thing. um.. i've moved around a lot since i was little, but most importantly, i moved here about six months ago to study ecology and biodiversity at hku. i'm in my sophomore year, and i'm not currently working anywhere since i'd like to focus on my studies.

If you've ever lost a finger or fainted during a midterm, you might have seen me (or not seen me?) in the emergency room, where I work a lot of long hours in hopes of not failing my residency.
